FinanceKatherine Pondexter, Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the Finance Division for the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office. The Finance Division is tasked with budgeting and analysis, payroll, accounts payable, forfeitures, grant application and reporting, cash management, purchasing, supply and inventory. Ms. Katherine Pondexter is committed to ensuring the employees and the agency financial reports are accurate and completed in a timely manner. Payroll AdministrationOne of the main functions of the division is to make sure all 110 Sheriff’s Office members receive their pay promptly and correctly. Payroll staff diligently handle wages, benefits, overtime, specialty payments, tax withholdings, and payroll tax forms, following both internal guidelines and regulatory standards. Their focus on precision boosts employee satisfaction and guarantees adherence to financial and labor regulations. Grants ManagementAn additional resource instrumental in advancing public safety operations through its comprehensive approach is grants management. By actively identifying and pursuing grant opportunities, the division secures vital funding that supports a range of community safety initiatives. Once grants are obtained, staff coordinate the submission process, ensuring all applications meet the specific requirements of the grantors. Financial Reporting & AuditingThe Finance Division is responsible for producing comprehensive financial reports and coordinating both internal and external audit activities to uphold accountability and transparency. These reports inform strategic decision-making, reveal financial patterns, and ensure compliance with fiscal policies.
