The Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center has a Dispatch Supervisor and eight dispatchers. The professional staff dispatches Deputies, Police, Fire and Animal Control.

The Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center had older systems that needed replacement. In April 2007, the Gadsden Count y Sheriff’s Office implemented its Positron Public Safety Communication System known as the Positron VIPER.

  • Receive 9-1-1 emergency and administrative calls
  • Automatically looks up ALI (Automatic Location Identification) based on ANI (Automatic Number Identification) and other information
  • Presents the call to a call taker at Positron Power911 position
  • Enables call takers to transfer call and data to different agencies (police, fire, EMS office…)

The Positron Power911 Intelligent Workstation (IWS) enables the 911 call answering agent to easily manage and handle
9-1-1 calls.  The Power911 provides visualized incoming call alerts, dynamic call status indicators, intelligent call prompting, call recording, one-button transfer for voice and data, and much more.  The Positron Management Gateway (PMG) is a browser-based application used to configure and maintain Positron VIPER.

Since the April 2007 go-live month, The Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office has been making full use of its Positron Public Safety System which includes 4 positions of Power 911, 4 positions of Power MAP, Power MIS, ANI/ALI controller, a full network management solution. The Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office is Phase II wireless compliant and began taking wireless calls in July of 2007.
