KISS Program

The K.I.S.S. Program is designed to ensure the safety of independent seniors ages 60 and older while providing them with educational resources that are valuable to maintaining their well-being and independence. The Program aims to improve the interaction between the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office and the senior citizen community by utilizing a database that will contain contact and demographic information of each participant. K.I.S.S. utilizes and builds upon the numerous programs within the county that interact with the senior population.

An independent senior age 60 and over may join K.I.S.S. by contacting the Gadsden County Emergency Management Division at (850) 875-8833.

Individuals and organizations/ groups (i.e. churches, civic groups) can volunteer by contacting The Gadsden County Emergency Management Division at (850) 875-8833. Volunteers must submit to a background screening.

Utilizing the sheriff’s office call center, volunteers make regular contact with K.I.S.S. participants to ensure their safety and to address any concerns they may have.  In an effort to build rapport with our participants, the Citizens on Patrol Unit of the sheriff’s office makes face-to-face home visit once per month.  This event is called “Senior Check Day” and is conducted on the last week of each month.
