Chris Hixon, Coach Aaron Feis, & Coach Scott Beigel Guardian Program

The Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the Chris Hixon, Coach Aaron Feis & Coach Scott Beigel
Guardian Program. For more information on application requirements and training schedule please contact the
Human Resources Director who’s contact information is listed below.
The role of a Guardian is to serve as the Safety Officer on School Campuses. Applicants will be skillfully
trained in the use of firearms, defensive tactics, active shooter and single officer response to threats,
diversity and legal aspects of the Guardian program.
Guardian applications may be picked up from the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office front desk receptionist at
339 East Jefferson Street, Quincy, Florida (Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm.)
Interested applicants must be:
– 21 years of age
– possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent
– hold a valid driver’s license.
Convicted felons are not eligible for this training and certification.
All applicants will be required to have or obtain a concealed weapons permit.
Applicants will also be subjected to a thorough background which includes:
 An interview, drug screening, criminal history check, Psychological Exam, and a Physical Abilities Test.
Applications that are not filled out completely will be delayed in processing or may be passed for consideration.
Applications must be completed and returned to the Human Resources Director.
